ABOUT THIS PHOTOGRAPH
In the village of Konara Xotro, Barpeta District, Assam, I seized a magical moment on a cold, foggy winter morning around 7:30 am. Armed with a Nikon Z6II and a 200-500 MM 5.6 Nikkor lens, my backyard became the stage for a stunning photograph featuring the Bronzed Drongo, known as Fechkunda Phensu in Assamese.
This small Indo-Malaysian bird, belonging to the Drongo group, resides in the lush forests of the India subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Distinguished by its smaller size and enhanced metallic gloss, the Bronzed Drongo exhibits a spangled appearance on its head, neck, and breast contribute to its unique charm.
The photograph brings in Barpeta's rich biodiversity, the Bronzed Drongo tells a compelling story of nature's wonders in this calm corner of Assam.
